August 2008

I already wrote about our family reunions and the first day of school, and that's a lot of what we did in August. I don't have any pictures but we celebrated our anniversary (7 years) by going miniature golfing and John was very excited that he won. And here are some pictures of the month....

We (really mostly me fter everyone was in bed, they only watched for a few minutes) watched the Olympics - in this picture it was beach volleyball and Levi was all excited and said, "playing sand - ball!" Sand and balls - his favorites! Although John spent most of the Olympics doing homework (but he got his project working!), he got to see an actual gold medal - a coworker's wife won the gold and let him bring it to work.

They love their hats! It doesn't take many spare minutes for them to get their hats on, and usually sandals too. It is nice they can do these by themselves these days, though! I'm already not looking forward to the end of sandal days and having to wear socks and tennis-type shoes.

Ian, helping them with their milk. This was a one time thing, he usually doesn't let them lay on him but it was cute! He's a really good big brother, is most of the time patient with them, and likes more and more to let "the brothers" play with him. He won't let them in his room, however.

We went outside to ride bikes but what was really the most entertaining was using the tools to "fix" Ian's bike. This kept Ian busy for a while, and Levi and Caleb busy fixing their own bikes long after Ian got bored with it. They only quit when they got to help put the wrenches away, way after their bedtime.

I love this picture of Caleb!

Ian's already being observant in school - this is how his teacher carries her pencil, so he has been too :)

A big bite for a little boy!

Those are cute pictures! I hope Ian's school time is a positive experience. I know Eden's is and it helps me so much to know she is having a good time.

Wow! They have gotten so big. They are all really cute. I can't believe that Ian is in kindergarten. Ethan starts kindergarten next year and it is crazy. It looks like you have had a really fun summer (I'm jealous!). And I have to stay that I also love that my Caleb is able to do so much more on his own.
